A building’s plumbing system is a complex network of water supply pipes, drain pipes, vent pipes, and more. Because plumbing is complicated and one of the costliest systems to install in a building, it pays to understand how the system works if you’re planning a new building project or a major remodel.
It is quite often a headache to the occupant when there are plumbing problems at a home or building. There might be a leaky tap or a broken pipe that plumbing contractors can fix within minutes. The average building owner spends about 15% of his house building investments setting up the plumbing system. That is not a big amount when a person thinks of the health hazards he may have had to face with a bad plumbing system. It takes money to keep the home plumbing system in good working condition.
Usually the plumbing system at building serves two basic purposes. The first purpose is to provide clean water for all kinds of daily needs; the sinks, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the toilets, bathrooms and so on. The second purpose is to remove the polluted water efficiently after collecting it from various drains without mixing it with the clean water supply. For the plumbing system to work efficiently it is necessary that the water pressure and gravity be checked. The main components of a plumbing system are the main water shut off valve, water meter, fixture stop valves, drainage taps and water heater. The two things should be understood about the fundamentals of a plumbing system as follow :
1. Design a workable system properly and pass plumbing codes. A properly designed system will deliver water to the various faucets, fixtures, and water-using appliances efficiently and carry away waste water without clogs.
2. Think efficiently to make accurate planning and pay attention to detail about all the important things as follow :
so it can reduce the overall plumbing expense significantly by locating bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry rooms near one another so that they can share parts of the system. It will save the money.
